Spiritual Parasites: What They Took From Me and How I Took It Back
Spiritual Parasites: What They Took From Me and How I Took It Back
There are some things I wish I didn’t have to learn the hard way.
Spiritual parasites are one of them.
For a long time, I didn’t even know that term. I just thought I was cursed—or going crazy. My life kept collapsing in cycles: emotional burnout, people turning against me, unexplainable exhaustion, constant bad luck. Every time I thought I’d found peace, something would crash through it.
Eventually, I realized it wasn’t "just life."
Something was feeding.

What Are Spiritual Parasites, Really?
This isn’t about monsters under the bed. It's about the energies that attach to your aura, your psyche, and your soul. Some come from trauma. Others are born of generational wounds or passed down through family lines. And yes—some are actual entities. I've felt them. Some even speak.
But here's the twist no one warns you about:
Spiritual parasites can also show up as people.
I’ve had “friends” who left me emotionally wrecked every time we talked. Lovers who felt intoxicating at first but drained every ounce of my confidence. Even family members who seemed to grow stronger as I withered around them.
---
The Signs I Ignored (And You Shouldn’t)
Looking back, I see it clearly:
I was always tired, no matter how much I rested
I had mood swings and thought spirals that didn’t feel like mine
Sleep paralysis became normal
I lost touch with my own intuition
People I trusted suddenly turned cold or chaotic
Every step forward felt like ten backward
I started questioning my sanity, my worth, my path
The worst part? You begin to believe it’s you. That you’re weak. Flawed. Maybe even broken.
That’s exactly what these things want.

People Can Carry Parasites Too
Some people aren’t just toxic—they’re hosts. I know that’s a strong word. But I’ve seen it. I’ve loved people who were carrying energies that weren’t theirs. They spread pain like it was perfume.
They weren’t all evil. Some were just unaware. But when you keep letting someone back in and you leave every interaction weaker, emptier, less like yourself—you need to start asking deeper questions.
Because energy doesn’t lie.
---
How They Destroy You, Little by Little
Spiritual parasites don’t need to blow up your life all at once. They work in patterns:
They feed off your emotional chaos
They push you into toxic cycles so they can grow
They disconnect you from your higher self
They isolate you from friends, from support, from clarity
They convince you to self-destruct
That’s what happened to me. Slowly. Quietly. Until I was just… surviving.

The Turning Point: Taking My Power Back
The healing didn’t start with incense or salt baths. It started with truth. Brutal, painful honesty:
> “This isn’t just bad luck. Something is attached. Something is feeding.”
Once I admitted that, things shifted.
I began cleansing ritual baths, smoke, music, silence
I cut cords even from people I loved
I learned to shield my energy before I left the house
I stopped pretending spiritual warfare wasn’t real
I asked for help from spirits I trusted, and from healers who walk this path too
It wasn’t overnight. But every day I reclaimed something: a bit more of my voice, my vision, my vitality. And the noise? The heaviness? It started to lift.

If You're Reading This…
Maybe part of you already knows. Maybe you’ve felt the weight that never leaves. Maybe you’re still explaining away your pain as bad luck, burnout, or being “too sensitive.”
Please hear this:
You’re not imagining it.
You’re not weak.
And you’re not alone.
There are things in this world that feed off light. But there are also things—ancient, fierce, and real that protect it. You have the right to call your power back. You have the right to be free.

Tools That Helped Me (And Might Help You)
Protection Baths: Hyssop + rue + sea salt + prayer
Smoke Cleansing: Mugwort, frankincense, or cedar
Energetic Boundaries: Visualize mirrors around you. Say no. Mean it.
Journal Rituals: Write letters to what you’re releasing. Burn them.
Spiritual Allies: Ancestors. Guides. Spirits who love you. Call on them.
Space: Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is cut someone off.
---
I’m still learning. Still growing. But I’ve come out the other side enough to say this:
I survived spiritual parasitism.
And if you’re in it you can too.
